Stress and anxiety can have a detrimental effect on our physical and mentally well-being yet it has become so ingrained in our society it’s become an accepted part of our lives – but there is a better way of living.

Stress and Anxiety is the area of my work where I am the most passionate, its where I feel I can make the biggest impact on peoples life given how many people it affects. We can’t always remove the causes of stress and anxiety but we can change our response, using proven techniques that counteract the effects of stress to live happier, healthier and more fulfilled life.  The stress response is our inbuilt survival mechanism, this is what drives us to take action but when experienced over long periods, this is when it becomes chronic and begins to take a toll on our health and lives in general. Stress and anxiety is often used interchangeably but they are different and it’s important to distinguish between them so the right approach is put in place.  Stress is caused by external factors, if these were to go away, the stress would also go away.  Anxiety however continues even after the cause of stress goes away.  Anxiety might take the form of Generalised Anxiety Disorder which affects X% and Social Anxiety. Hypnotherapy with CBT is an effective way of dealing with stress and anxiety.  The process of hypnosis itself is incredibly therapeutic, resulting in increased levels of relaxation in both the mind and body, making it a great antidote.  In hypnosis, suggestions are then given focused on reducing worry and anxiety and make you feel more in control.  We will also address those conscious and unconscious thoughts and behaviours that might be contributing to the feelings of stress and anxiety. The cognitive behavioural component focused on addressing thoughts and behaviours to establish more effective coping mechanisms.    This can also help to address any side issues such as improving sleep, building confidence and increasing focus and motivation.
